University of California Turf Disease Diagnostic Report:

November 19, 2007

Sorry for the lack of consistent reports from California – the last two months have been a lot of traveling, giving talks and writing reports on summer research. Speaking of meetings – it was great to see everyone at the GCSA State Meeting last week in Monterey!

As far as diseases – expect to continue to see rapid blight, brown ring patch, brown patch on warm season grass and potentially some pink snow mold in colder locations.

The lab is short on hands this week for the Thanksgiving holiday so samples may not get done in a timely manner. Emailing pictures and phone calls will help with on the fly diagnoses this week.

The Lions play the Packers on Thursday, with the Lions trying to break the Packer’s 5-game win streak. You would think that with Detroit being voted the U.S.’s most dangerous city this week (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21870766/?GT1=10547) – that the Lions would have the edge on this one.

Travel safe for the holidays and eat lots of turkey and pumpkin pie!
